Petitioner Jesus Woods ("Woods") has petitioned for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. Woods was convicted, after a trial by jury, of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and was sentenced on October 5, 1983 to an indeterminate term of imprisonment of from three to six years.
