OPINION

MATTHEWS, Chief Justice.

Paul Akers, was employed by ARCO Alaska, Inc. for approximately six and one-half years as a mechanical technician at Prudhoe Bay. This appeal concerns his termination.

FACTS

Akers accepted an offer of employment from ARCO in 1976. At that time he was told that North Slope oil field jobs were expected to be available for approximately twenty years, the life of the field. Akers was given a Prudhoe Bay employee...
