This case originated with the sale of large blocks of St. Charles Bank and Trust Company stock to each of the three plaintiffs and other investors, including some of the defendants. Later, examinations by federal and state regulatory authorities revealed inadequacies and deficiencies in the bank's financial structure. The value of the bank's stock dropped drastically in less than two years, causing the three plaintiffs to seek legal counsel and eventually...
