The defendant, Cedric D. Hargrove, pled guilty to misdemeanor concealment of a weapon and was sentenced to thirty days in jail. The state subsequently filed a bill of information charging Hargrove with illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95.1 as the defendant had been convicted of aggravated rape in 1974.
