In 1977, the Secretary of Labor brought an action against the Tony and Susan Alamo Foundation, a religious organization, Tony Alamo, Susan Alamo, and Larry Larouche (collectively the Foundation) for violations of section 17 of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, as amended 29 U.S.C. §§ 201 et seq.
