The recommended guideline sentence range was 12-30 months' incarceration. The sentence, imposed without reasons justifying departure, was imprisonment for 15 years with provision that after serving 30 months, the balance (12 1/2 years) was suspended subject to the successful completion of a period of 10 years' probation...
