This case arose from a dispute between a landlord, Donald Moore, and his tenant, Rochelle Jones. Jones leased a house from Moore. When she failed to pay her rent for several months, Moore filed an action for possession in the Landlord and Tenant Branch of the Superior Court. On the scheduled trial date the parties settled the case by agreeing to a consent judgment in favor of the landlord, Mr. Moore, which was approved by the judge then presiding...
