Appellant Reginald Brown was charged with one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of phencyclidine (PCP). D.C.Code § 33-541(d) (1986 Supp.). The jury returned a partial verdict finding him guilty of possessing marijuana, but before it had reached agreement on the PCP count the trial judge declared a mistrial on that count when one juror became ill.
