The plaintiff was rendered a quadriplegic when the CJ-5 Jeep, in which she was riding as a passenger, was involved in a collision with another automobile and rolled over. The jury verdict awarded 9.5 million dollars in compensatory damages to the plaintiff, labeling Jeep and American Motors Corporation 55% at fault and the driver of the other vehicle 45% in error.
