James L. Riley, Jr. was indicted by the East Baton Rouge Parish Grand Jury for second degree murder, a violation of La.R.S. 14:30.1. He was tried by a jury, which convicted him as charged. The trial court imposed the mandatory sentence of life imprisonment at hard labor, without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.
