Defendant, William Gene Skipper, was charged by bill of information with simple burglary, a violation of La.R.S. 14:62, and with illegal possession of stolen property, a violation of La.R.S. 14:69. Skipper was found guilty as charged by a six-person jury and sentenced to twelve years at hard labor on the simple burglary charge and eight years at hard labor on the illegal possession of stolen property charge, the sentences to run consecutively.
