On October 25, 1985, a grand jury returned an indictment charging defendants Ronald Glantz and Anthony J. Bucci with conspiracy to commit extortion (Count I) and extortion (Count II) in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1951 (Hobbs Act).1 At the time of the alleged extortion, Glantz was City Solicitor of Providence, and Bucci was an attorney in private practice.
