An employer who withdraws from a multiemployer pension fund, such as the teamsters pension fund involved in this case, is required by the Multiemployer Pension Plan Amendments Act of 1980, 29 U.S.C. §§ 1381 et seq., to compensate the fund by reimbursing it for his pro rata share of the fund's vested but unfunded pension liability.
