Arthur Patterson brings this claim for compensation under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act ("the Act"), 33 U.S.C. §§ 901-950 (1986). From 1956 to 1980 Arthur Patterson was employed with the Savannah Machine & Shipyard Company. During the majority of his years with Savannah Machine, Patterson was a sandblaster.
