These cases present an issue of jurisdiction.

On July 2, 1986, Joseph Jackson, his wife, Mary Ann Jackson, and their three children, Angel, Joseph, Jr., and Detrich, were involved in an automobile accident. Only Joseph, Jr., and Detrich survived.

Subsequently, Joseph Jackson's brother, Ira Jackson, Jr., petitioned the Jefferson County Probate Court, in separate cases, for letters of administration on the estates of Joseph and Mary...
