Moreau commenced this litigation in 1982 against his employer, James River-Otis, Inc. (Company), for breach of contract, and against his local union, Local 247, and its international union, the International Brotherhood of Firemen & Oilers, AFL-CIO (IBFO) for breach of its duty of fair representation.
