This diversity case arises from a personal injury suit brought in the Northern District of Georgia by plaintiff Mark Jenkins against defendant Georgia Power, Inc. (Georgia Power). The jury returned a verdict in favor of the plaintiff in the sum of $515,000.00. Thereafter, defendant Georgia Power moved for a judgment notwithstanding the verdict or in the alternative for a new trial. The district court denied both of these motions,
