On March 30, 1986 plaintiff James D. Norred's house burned to the ground. The issue in this case is whether a homeowner's insurance binder issued to Mr. Norred by defendant Hodge Insurance Agency and underwritten by defendant Commercial Union Insurance Company was still in effect on the date of the fire. The trial court found that the plaintiff did not have insurance coverage on the date of the fire and that the lack of coverage was not the fault...
