In this appeal, we must decide whether a notice to correct or vacate for failure to pay rent promptly, D.C. Code § 45-2551(b) (1986 Repl.Vol.), expires thirty days after the notice is received or on the first day of the rental period immediately following the lapse of the thirty day notice period.
