McDONOUGH, Justice.

This is an appeal from a criminal conviction. A jury in the Eighth Judicial District found appellant Tracy Douglas Smith guilty of aggravated kidnapping. Smith was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the offense, with 10 years suspended. Smith also received an additional sentence of 10 years for being a persistent felony offender, and 5 years for the commission of a crime with a weapon.
