Plaintiff-appellee Norman C. Peterson (Peterson) commenced this action in April 1983. His complaint alleged that a broker employed by defendant-appellant Shearson/American Express, Inc. (Shearson) was responsible for losses incurred by Peterson arising from trading in stock options.
