Plaintiffs in this matter are Sharon Cormier Laviolette and her former husband, Harold Cormier. They filed suit in the Sixteenth Judicial District Court against the City of Breaux Bridge and the State of Louisiana, through the Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) based upon Sharon's trip and fall while crossing a street in Breaux Bridge.
