After a jury trial, defendant was convicted of burglary (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 19-1) and forgery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 17-3). Subsequently, the trial court sentenced him to concurrent terms of 12 years' imprisonment for the burglary conviction and five years' imprisonment for the forgery conviction.
