On May 27, 1986, defendant-appellant, Julian Ford, was convicted of production (cultivation) of marijuana, a violation of La.R.S. 40:966(A)1. A pre-sentence investigation report was ordered and on June 30, 1986, after receipt of said report, Ford was sentenced to five years at hard labor.
