The notes are acquired by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as part of the assets of the now-defunct Girod Trust Company (GTC). GTC was closed on August 16, 1984, by order of the Secretary of the Treasury of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
