Calvin Collier (defendant) was charged by bill of information with armed robbery. LSA-R.S. 14:64. He pled not guilty, and trial by jury commenced on October 28, 1986. Upon completion of the trial, the jury was unable to reach a verdict and advised the court that it was hopelessly deadlocked.
