On March 30, 1987, defendant, Robert Louis Maxey, was indicted by a Sabine Parish grand jury for second degree murder, a violation of La.R.S. 14:30.1. Following trial by jury defendant was found guilty as charged and sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
