The Livingston Parish Grand Jury indicted defendant nineteen-year old Copeland and thirty-seven year old George Brooks1 for the July 7, 1979 murder of Joseph Cook Owen, an eleven year old boy. Copeland's trial was changed from Livingston Parish to Tangipahoa Parish where a unanimous jury found Copeland guilty as charged...
