Appellant Jackie Leonard, a passenger on a motorcycle driven by respondent Ritchie Kurschner, was injured in a collision between the motorcycle and a car driven by respondent Thomas Parrish. The jury found both Parrish and Kurschner negligent, but reduced Leonard's recovery under Minn.Stat. § 169.974, subd. 6, because she was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
