Marvin Bass, plaintiff, filed this action against the United States of America, defendant, seeking to recover monetary damages for personal injury allegedly sustained by him on December 9, 1983, while working on the main weather deck of the U.S.S. IOWA as a joiner for Ingalls Shipbuilding Division of Litton Systems, Inc., [Ingalls]. The U.S.S. IOWA is, and at all relevant times herein was, a battleship owned by the United States...
