The present appeal is the most recent chapter in the 13 year pilgrimage of John William Bilyew challenging the validity of his guilty plea in an Illinois state court to the offenses of murder and concealing a homicidal death. Such plea was entered on March 3, 1975 and the petitioner sentenced to consecutive terms of 50 to 100 and 1 to 3 years' imprisonment.
