The State presented evidence tending to show the following. In 1986, Detective Bill Wade of the Harnett County Sheriff's Department was working as an undercover drug agent in the county. Around the middle of September, 1986, he went to Gloria McCormack's mobile home located in Angier, North Carolina and made a purchase of cocaine from her.
