BURGESS, Justice.

Bill Dryden was injured when he fell from a work platform on the premises of Gulf States Utilities, Inc. (GSU). United States Fire Insurance Company paid Dryden workers compensation benefits as a result of his injuries. Dryden was employed by Coastline Coating, Inc. (Coastline) as a painter. Coastline was performing painting services as an independent contractor for GSU. A fellow employee, at the close of the day prior to the accident...
