Between February and October 1984, defendant allegedly subjected his seven-year-old half sister to sexual intercourse and sexual abuse through the use of force or threats of force. In August 1985, defendant was indicted on three counts of first degree rape and one count of sexual abuse. On December 10, 1985, the prosecution agreed to allow defendant to plead guilty to one count of first degree attempted rape in full satisfaction of the charges...
