K.K. is currently a patient at the State Security Hospital in St. Peter, Minnesota, for treatment of a mental illness and mental retardation. Pursuant to a dependency and neglect petition and following a proper hearing, the trial court found that grounds for termination of K.K.'s parental rights exist because her mental illness and mental retardation are detrimental to the physical and mental health of her two infant children.
