We first considered the two-vehicle 1981 hit-and-run accident underlying this declaratory judgment action in Roberts v. Bruns, 387 N.W.2d 140 (Iowa 1986). In that personal injury case both Kristine Roberts and her mother sought to recover damages for injuries Kristine sustained when the motorcycle she was operating was struck by a car driven by Dale Bruns and owned by his wife.
