Jerry Rands sued the builder of his home and two suppliers for breaches of contract and warranty. By special verdict the jury awarded Rands $9,000, apportioning the liability among the three defendants. Rands moved for judgment notwithstanding the verdict or, alternatively, a new trial on damages only.
