EDWARDS, Judge.

Christopher Acey pleaded guilty to attempted second degree murder, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:27 and 14:30.1, and was sentenced to seventeen years at hard labor. On April 1, 1987, the defendant's post-conviction relief application requesting an out of time appeal was granted. On appeal, the defendant urges as his only assignment of error that the trial court erred in imposing an excessive sentence and in failing to comply with the sentencing guidelines...
