Respondents sued appellant for legal malpractice in connection with a real estate transaction. Appellant counterclaimed for damages due to defamation. After hearing the evidence, a jury awarded respondents $75,000 for damage to their credit or reputation; $25,000 punitive damages; and $25,000 damages for emotional distress.
