The defendant, Robin Lynn Smith, was charged by bill of information with armed robbery, LSA-R.S. 14:64, for his involvement in an incident at a 7-Eleven store in Shreveport. After a jury trial, he was found guilty of the lesser offense of first degree robbery, LSA-R.S. 14:64.1.
