Wisconsin officials brought a forfeiture action against currency taken from the claimants in the course of a drug deal. In dismissing the action, the Wisconsin court ordered the state to deposit the money with the clerk of courts for later delivery to the claimants. After the currency was deposited with the court, a deputy United States marshal came to the state courthouse and seized the currency to make it the subject of a federal forfeiture...
