This expropriation suit was filed by the Orleans Levee Board against Newport Enterprises and Newport Limited (Newport) seeking a certain 25.77 acre tract for flood wall, floodgates and other flood control structures. The Levee Board deposited the sum of $146,564.00 in the registry of the Court pursuant to La.R.S. 38:351, et seq. and immediately acquired the rights to the 25 acre tract.
