Defendant, Donald Pegg, was charged by grand jury indictment with aggravated rape and armed robbery, violations of La.R.S. 14:42 and La.R.S. 14:64, respectively. On March 17, 1986 defendant pled not guilty. Following a jury trial defendant was found guilty as charged on both counts. On May 28, 1986, defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence on the aggravated rape conviction and to ninety...
