We granted certiorari in this case to consider whether OCGA § 9-3-22 or OCGA § 9-3-24 was the applicable statute of limitations in this action for recovery of back wages. The Court of Appeals held that OCGA § 9-3-24, the six-year statute relating to contracts in general should be applied. Adams v. City of Atlanta, 179 Ga.App. 719 (347 S.E.2d 647
