Defendant Jerry Valentino Daniels appeals as of right from his conviction of first-degree murder, MCL 750.316; MSA 28.548, and his conviction of assault with intent to murder, MCL 750.83; MSA 28.278. Defendant was convicted on January 13, 1986, following a bench trial in Detroit Recorder's Court. Defendant was sentenced to two concurrent life terms and received credit for 141 days served.
