Darrell Slayton was convicted by a jury of the crime of going armed with intent to use a dangerous weapon against the person of another in violation of Iowa Code section 708.8 (1985). This charge arose out of events that occurred in the early hours of July 14, 1985, at the home of defendant's parents, Dale and Fannie Slayton.
