This is an appeal from a judgment of conviction rendered by a jury in Superior Court finding the defendant guilty of having committed assault with a dangerous weapon in violation of G.L. 1956 (1981 Reenactment) § 11-5-2, as amended by P.L. 1981, ch. 76, § 1. The defendant was found not guilty on charges of kidnaping. A motion for new trial was denied by the trial justice and the defendant now appeals from that ruling...
