Julio del Carmen Ramirez was convicted under the Hobbs Act after a jury trial in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. He was part of a group of individuals who, admittedly, intended to rob a Wells Fargo truck in front of the Chase Manhattan Bank in Caguas on August 22, 1985.
