Raphael Cady was struck by an automobile driven by an uninsured motorist. He and his wife, Anita Cady, who witnessed the accident, filed a claim with their insurance company, Allstate Insurance. Raphael's claim was settled. A board of arbitrators denied Anita's claim. The district court denied Anita's motion for a trial de novo and confirmed the arbitrators' decision.
