Defendant was charged with a Class "C" felony of stealing from a person. Section 570.030 RSMo 1978. He was charged and tried as a prior offender because of a prior plea of guilty to a Class "C" felony. Section 558.016.1 RSMo Cum.Supp.1984. The defendant testified that at the time of the commission of the crime he was at home in bed.
